LIVING WATER — BOOK 6 · DAMAMAH · ENGLISH

89 — DAMAMAH · דְּמָמָה

CHAPTER 1 — FOUNDATION

In a life filled with noise, stopping for a moment is a practice of attention.

CHAPTER 2 — PRACTICE

The breath continually brings us back to the present. Notice inhalation and exhalation without needing to change them.

CHAPTER 3 — LISTENING

Silence can make thoughts and feelings easier to recognize. We do not have to solve them immediately.

CHAPTER 4 — DISCERNMENT

Listening without immediately interrupting or answering is a form of respect. Silence gives another person room.

CHAPTER 5 — TRANSFORMATION

Not every question needs an immediate answer. Time and silence can provide clarity that cannot be forced.

CHAPTER 6 — LIVED CONTEMPLATION

Silence is not escape. After stopping and listening, we return to life with fuller attention.

MEDITATION

Sit quietly. Breathe slowly. Let attention become present. Ask: What is this theme inviting me to see, hear, receive, or practice today?

CONTEMPLATION

  1. What am I becoming aware of now?
  2. What needs to be heard more clearly?
  3. What small step can I take today?
  4. How can awareness become action?
  5. What do I want to carry from this book into daily life?

MEDITATION SENTENCE

In silence, I learn to listen.

1-MINUTE PRACTICE

  • Stop and breathe.
  • Listen and notice.
  • Choose one life-giving response.
  • Turn attention into action.

NUMBER

דְּמָמָה = 4 + 40 + 40 + 5 = 89

CLOSING

This reflection does not end with words. Let what you read become attention, and let attention become a small action that brings life into everyday living.
