LIVING WATER — BOOK 1 · DAVAR · ENGLISH

206 — DAVAR · דָּבָר

CHAPTER 1 — FOUNDATION

Words are seeds. Every word leaves something behind, sometimes immediately and sometimes much later.

CHAPTER 2 — PRACTICE

Before speaking, pause. Ask whether the word is true, necessary, respectful, and life-giving.

CHAPTER 3 — LISTENING

Speaking and listening belong together. Listening makes room for another person’s experience without requiring agreement.

CHAPTER 4 — DISCERNMENT

Life-giving words can be simple: thank you, I hear you, I am sorry, I appreciate you, or let us begin again.

CHAPTER 5 — TRANSFORMATION

We all speak words we later regret. Awareness means seeing the mistake, acknowledging it, repairing what can be repaired, and learning.

CHAPTER 6 — LIVED CONTEMPLATION

DAVAR is also expressed through action. Our choices, attention, attitudes, and treatment of others communicate something.

MEDITATION

Sit quietly. Breathe slowly. Let attention become present. Ask: What is this theme inviting me to see, hear, receive, or practice today?

CONTEMPLATION

  1. What am I becoming aware of now?
  2. What needs to be heard more clearly?
  3. What small step can I take today?
  4. How can awareness become action?
  5. What do I want to carry from this book into daily life?

MEDITATION SENTENCE

May my words bring life.

1-MINUTE PRACTICE

  • Stop and breathe.
  • Listen and notice.
  • Choose one life-giving response.
  • Turn attention into action.

NUMBER

דָּבָר = 4 + 2 + 200 = 206

CLOSING

This reflection does not end with words. Let what you read become attention, and let attention become a small action that brings life into everyday living.
